Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release is a beautiful technique that can be used for almost anyone, and for the majority of ailments (not just for pain and tension). This technique flows and moves with your body, releasing restrictions in the layers of the fascial tissue.  Our fascia is a type of connective tissue that runs from head to toe, and through everything down to the cellular level!  With regular sessions we can even change the structure of the tissue itself, relieving many types of chronic issues.

Deep Tissue

Deep Tissue techniques involve engaging the deeper layers of muscle and tissue in order to correct the physical structure of the body.  Passive stretching, deep compression, friction, and heat may be used to achieve this.  Knuckles, forearms and elbows are used more to apply consistent deeper pressure versus hands and fingers that may be used in Swedish massage.

Swedish Relaxation

Swedish Techniques are typically the foundation of what massage therapists learn in most formal training.  This modality focuses on relieving physical tension, pain and overall relaxation.  Gliding, kneading, and friction are some of the techniques used with Swedish.  Oil or lotion is also used.  I will typically incorporate these techniques with most of my treatments, but I do have options for strictly relaxation sessions.

Reflexology

Reflexology uses ancient principles to interact with the nervous system and the more subtle energetic systems of the body.  Direct pressure into certain points of the body can help to relieve stress, tension and pain in the overall body

Below are modalities that I have had formal training or continuing education in.  I tend to utilize whatever technique best suits your body in a session but I can customize your table time however you would like.  No two sessions will be the same.  My goal is always to facilitate overall healing and growth.
